The Nitrate War board game is a 2-4 player strategy game covering the 19th century conflict in South America between Chile vs Peru and Bolivia. The war began when Bolivia broke a treaty between Chile and itself. Peru was not ready for a war. Its President, Mariano Ignacio Pracho, was a socialist and had purged the army of people and weapons. Bolivia itself was only a little better armed. Chile on the other hand had just undergone a modernization of its military by a Prussian General and it was ready for war. Historically Chile won the war and gained over 30% new territory to its national boundaries.. The war would leave central South America in shambles for years and years.

Now you can relive this conflict and possibly change its outcome. Can Bolivia and Peru get Argentina or US Industrialists into the War on their side? Can Chile win a war flanked by enemies on all sides?

Game includes 17" x 22" game map. Game Rules 150+ cut out pieces

You will need at least one D10 to play this game.
